Cofura Community Rules

Version 1.0 ยท Effective November 6, 2026

Cofura is where students find people to build with. These rules keep it a place people trust. They're part of our Terms of Service, and they apply everywhere on Cofura: your profile, your photos, your messages, and messages to Kip.

1. Be real

  • Use your real first name and your own photos. Don't pretend to be someone else.
  • One account per person. Don't make a new account to get around a block or a suspension.
  • Be honest about what you're building, what you're looking for, and how much time you can give.

2. Treat every match like a future teammate

  • No harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation.
  • No hate: nothing that attacks people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or serious illness.
  • No sexual messages or images, and nothing sexual sent to someone who didn't ask for it.
  • No pressure. If someone says no, stops replying, unmatches or blocks you, leave it there.

3. Keep it about building

  • Cofura is for finding cofounders and teammates. It isn't a dating app.
  • No spam, ads, mass messages, pyramid schemes or get-rich-quick pitches.
  • No selling, and no recruiting people into something they didn't sign up for.

4. Keep people safe

  • Nothing illegal, and no content that sexualizes or exploits minors. We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities.
  • Don't share anyone's private information (their address, phone number, photos, or screenshots of their messages) without their permission.
  • Never post or send intimate images of someone without their consent. If it happens to you, see section 9 of our Privacy Policy.
  • No violence, self-harm content, or threats to anyone's safety.
  • Meeting someone? Meet in a public place, tell a friend, and trust your instincts.

5. Respect ideas and work

  • Ideas shared in a chat are shared in trust. Don't copy someone's idea or work and pass it off as yours.
  • Any agreement you make with someone you meet on Cofura (equity, roles, money, who owns what) is between you and them. Put important things in writing.

6. Reporting and what happens next

  • Report anything that breaks these rules. Every report is reviewed by a person on our team. The person you report isn't told who reported them.
  • Zero tolerance. We remove content that breaks these rules, and we suspend or remove people who post it. Serious breaches, like threats, sexual content sent to someone who didn't ask for it, hate or anything illegal, end an account straight away. Smaller ones may get a warning first.
  • Automatic checks look at photos and messages before other people see them. If we got something wrong, you can ask for a second look.
  • Blocking is always available. A person you block can't see you or message you again.
  • If something feels unsafe, you can also message Kip in your inbox or email [email protected].

7. Changes

We may update these rules. If we make a major change, we'll ask you to accept the new version in the app.
